🇺🇸 Trump's list of donors for White House ballroom misses the richest man on Earth 💰🏛️
A new controversy is brewing as the White House unveiled donors for Donald Trump’s $300 million ballroom project — and Elon Musk’s name is notably absent.
💸 Tech Titans Fund the Ballroom
The planned 90,000-square-foot ballroom will host 650 guests, tripling the East Room’s capacity. The privately funded project includes donations from Apple’s Tim Cook, Jeff Bezos’ Amazon, Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta, Google, Microsoft, Coinbase, Tether America, HP, Hard Rock International, and T-Mobile. Trump himself pledged to contribute.
However, Musk, once among Trump’s closest allies and head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), is missing — surprising many given his $288 million support for Trump’s 2024 campaign.
🤔 Why Musk Stepped Back
Musk’s absence follows a public rift with Trump. Earlier this year, he said at the Qatar Economic Forum,
“I think I’ve done enough. I’ll do a lot less political spending in the future.”
The fallout began after Trump backed legislation ending EV tax credits, impacting Tesla. Musk criticized the “big beautiful bill,” citing deficit concerns and hinting at forming a third party. Trump then warned he could revoke Musk’s government contracts and subsidies.
🔄 Cooling Ties
Despite tensions, Trump recently softened his stance, saying,
“He’s a good man. He got off the reservation incorrectly, and that’s okay.”
Still, Musk’s absence from the donor list signals the cooling of a once-powerful partnership — leaving Washington watchers wondering if reconciliation is truly on the horizon.
