the cloture vote failed. 49 to 50, with 60 needed
and it failed on opposition. no Democrat voted yes, they pointed at ethics and presidential crypto profits. in my post that was one item on a list of things eating floor time

two days later the CFTC sent its own crypto rule to the White House. what got filed, as far as anyone can see:
🔸 stage: prerule, text sealed until the review ends
🔸 still ahead: two comment periods, two White House reviews
🔸 earliest binding rule: late 2027, per 24/7 Wall St.
🔸 spot for digital commodities: still needs Congress
my bet, and it's only a bet: this rule lands before any new CLARITY vote, and still not before late 2027
