Speculation is growing that Binance founder, Changpeng Zhao (CZ), will soon return to the crypto exchange he founded. This rumor emerged almost two years after he stepped down in November 2023.

Quoted from coingape, Thursday (18/9/2025), the issue of Changpeng Zhao's return emerged after Binance officially settled its lawsuit with the US Department of Justice (DoJ). This news made BNB Coin jump 5% to break its all-time high of USD 1000.

Crypto journalist Wu Blockchain reported that Changpeng Zhao changed his profile on the X platform. The description that previously read “ex-@binance” now simply says @binance, fueling speculation that he is preparing to return to lead the company.

At that time, Changpeng Zhao resigned and pleaded guilty to violating anti-money laundering laws.
