What is liquidation? 🤔

Liquidation is when your position is forcibly closed without you deciding to close it 😳

📍 It happens when you use leverage: you borrow to make a bigger bet. If the price moves against you and your margin no longer covers the loss, the platform closes the position to protect itself
📍 The higher the leverage, the smaller the drop needed. With 10x leverage, a drop of around 10% may be enough, depending on the margin and fees
📍 When lots of positions are liquidated at the same time, these forced sales push the price down even further. About $356 million was liquidated in 24 hours this week (CoinCentral, 29-10) 📉
📍 With spot trading, there’s no liquidation: you own your crypto. Its price can fall, but no one closes your position. The risk of loss still exists ⚠️
