Data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS): September CPI: +3.7% YoY, above the 3.6% forecast and up from 3.4% in August. MoM: +0.6%. Core CPI (excluding food & energy): +2.6% YoY, also above the 2.4% forecast. MoM: +0.3%. Main driver: Gasoline rose 9.1% in one month, accounting for more than 50% of the CPI increase. Gasoline prices rose 27.4% year over year. PPI (producer prices): +6.3% YoY, the highest level since 12/2022. The gap between PPI at 6.3% and CPI at 3.7%—2.6 percentage points—is the widest since 2022, indicating that businesses are facing high input costs but have not yet dared to pass them all on to consumers.
Why the crypto and stock markets are paying attention today:
The Fed meets on October 28: Following this hotter-than-expected CPI report, the Fed raised interest rates in September for the first time since 2023. Markets are pricing in an 81–90% probability that the Fed will hold or raise rates again in December. This is why BTC is stuck at $82–84k and unable to break out. Rising savings rates: 91.3% of U.S. banks raised CD rates after the CPI news, and the number of CDs paying >=4% rose 86% in four weeks. Money is increasingly likely to stay in banks rather than flow into risk assets like crypto. October CPI data will be incomplete: Because the BLS lacks October 2025 data due to the government shutdown, the upcoming October CPI report will not include a complete YoY comparison—the Fed will have to make its decision based on incomplete data.
Crypto scenarios: CPI remains >=3.7%: Bearish for crypto; the DXY rises, and BTC could retest $79.8k. CPI falls to 3.1–3.3% (the market's expectation for November): Mildly bullish, potentially triggering a recovery rally in altcoins.#CPI数据 $ETH
South Korean businesses can now use Bitcoin as collateral for bank loans 🇰🇷
Jeonbuk Bank has become the first bank in South Korea to offer businesses loans backed by Bitcoin.
According to CoinDesk, the bank has disbursed a loan of this kind. The funds were disbursed in won and may only be used for business operating expenses.
The bank does not hold the Bitcoin itself; instead, it has a crypto service provider hold it in custody. If the borrower fails to repay the loan, the bank will recover the funds by selling the Bitcoin under a court order.
When designing the product, the bank considered major cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum, but currently accepts only Bitcoin as collateral. The bank simulated scenarios in which Bitcoin’s price fell sharply to assess the risks, then chose Bitcoin because of its deep liquidity and ease of sale when needed.
What do you think—when will Vietnamese banks start accepting Bitcoin as collateral? 😋 #BTC $BTC
Overview of the MEME sector this morning — currently the hardest-hit sector in the market:
This morning at a glance: The total meme market cap is around $79.87B, with 24h volume at approximately $33B. All three sector leaders are deep in the red this morning: DOGE: $0.07828, down 6.15% on the day, YTD -36.85% SHIB: $0.00000494, down 5.54%, YTD -33.11% PEPE: $0.00000438, down 6.6% on the day, but up 12.41% over the past 5 days and 4.38% over the past month — the strongest in the group
What’s happening with meme coins?
Money isn’t leaving memes; it’s just rotating within the sector This is called sector rotation. DOGE is still the largest, with a $12.44B market cap, 4.2 times SHIB’s. But yesterday, PEPE’s volume reached 24.18% of its market cap per day, 15 times SHIB’s (1.6%). In other words, traders are shifting from older coins (DOGE, SHIB), where many 2021 holders are stuck holding bags and waiting to sell, to newer, less liquid coins that are easier to pump, like PEPE, BONK, FLOKI, and FARTCOIN.
DOGE/SHIB are weighed down by longtime holders SHIB’s circulating supply is already 99.96% unlocked, with no more tokens to unlock. But for that very reason, whenever the price ticks up, longtime holders from 2021 sell. That’s why SHIB is rising so slowly even as BTC recovers.
PEPE/BONK/FLOKI are the short-term focus Yesterday, FLOKI was up 32.8%, BONK 16.2%, and FARTCOIN 23.5% — all coins with smaller market caps. But these pumps come with very high speculative volume (FLOKI volume was up 402% on the day); it’s mostly FOMO and isn’t sustainable. #Pepe $PEPE
SHIB outlook this morning, 10/22 — significantly weaker than BTC:
Current price: SHIB: $0.00000495–$0.00000506, down 5.35% in 24 hours and 11.52% over the month. Market cap is now about $2.96B, ranked #37. Over the past 24 hours, SHIB fell 3.3% to $0.000005011 while BTC edged into the green, suggesting money is flowing out of meme coins.
Why it’s weak:
Exchange reserves are rising: About 87.16 trillion SHIB are currently held on exchanges (14.79% of the circulating supply), up 0.08% from yesterday. Net inflows are positive at 72.56 billion SHIB — meaning more is being deposited on exchanges than withdrawn, a sign of selling pressure. Burn activity has collapsed: The burn rate is down 93.71% from the previous day and 82.87% for the week. Only about 170,367 SHIB (~$0.86) were burned in the past 24 hours — tiny compared with the 589 trillion supply. Technical picture: The price is below the 50-day and 100-day EMAs ($0.00000525–$0.00000535), while the 200-day EMA at $0.00000560 has been a firm ceiling for months. RSI is around 45, momentum is weak, and volume is low, so the current bounce lacks support.
Key levels to watch: If it holds $0.0000050, there’s still a chance of a recovery to $0.00000526 (yesterday’s high). If it loses this level, it could retest the October low of $0.00000480, or fall further to $0.00000450. Resistance to reverse the short-term trend: SHIB needs to close a daily candle above $0.00000535–$0.00000560.
Short-term outlook: SHIB is a high-risk meme coin whose price moves more on attention than fundamentals. With BTC.D above 62% and Fear & Greed at Extreme Fear, meme altcoins like SHIB are often among the first to be sold off.
This is not investment advice. What price are you holding SHIB at, or are you watching for a new entry?#SHIBA🚀 $SHIB
The current BTC candle cycle is in the final correction phase of the 2024–2026 Halving cycle; it is no longer in a straight uptrend like it was at the beginning of the year. *1.. Higher timeframe — 4-year cycle: 4th Halving: 19/04/2024 Historically, BTC usually peaks 12–18 months after a Halving. The latest peak in this cycle was $126.2k (ATH), after which it fell to the current $81–83k range, down 24% from the peak a year ago. We are now 18 months after the Halving —> in the distribution / shakeout phase, similar to October 2021 and October 2017.
Monthly timeframe (1M): The September monthly candle closed red; October is currently a doji with a long lower wick. Price is below the monthly MA20 but still above the monthly MA50 (∼$76k). The monthly candles are compressing, with their ranges gradually narrowing —> setting up for a large-move monthly candle in November–December.
Weekly timeframe (1W): BTC is retesting the weekly MA200 — the level Saylor just mentioned: “it just bounced from here; $20k is the start of a new bull market.” The last 5 weeks have all had small-bodied candles, with declining volume. These are accumulation — consolidation — candles, not strong distribution candles. 3 of the last 7 weekly candles were green, but buying pressure is weak.
Current Daily & H4 timeframes (most important for traders): Daily: Forming a 3-day Inside Bar pattern around $81.2k–$83.4k. A daily candle needs to close above $84,122 to confirm a short-term reversal. If it closes below $80,477, it could start a red-candle cycle toward $75,869 (daily MA200). H4: The current cycle is in a slight upward sideways trend, testing resistance at the Ichimoku cloud and the descending trendline from the $88k peak. This morning’s H4 candle is a rebound candle with a long upper wick —> indicating there is still selling pressure and profit-taking at $83.5k.#BTC走势分析 $BTC
BTC morning outlook for 21/10 — recovering, but still in a consolidation range:
This morning's price: BTC is hovering around $82.9k–$83k, opened today at $81,995, with a low of $81,200 and a high of $83,439, up about +1.22% from yesterday. Technical picture: Still moving sideways above the 50-day MA (~$81,429) and the 200-day MA (~$72,528). The long-term trend remains intact, but short-term momentum is weak. The 14-day RSI is ~48.5, neutral with a slight bearish lean, and not yet oversold. Strong resistance: $83,950–$84,261 (a large sell wall + ETF holders' cost basis). A daily close above $84,122 on volume is needed to confirm a breakout from the consolidation range. Support: $81,600 and $80,000. Losing $80k on the daily timeframe could easily trigger another liquidation sweep. Sentiment & flows: Fear & Greed is at 25 — Extreme Fear, meaning retail investors are very fearful. Funding is slightly positive at +0.0086% / 8h, so longs are still paying fees to shorts. On-chain data from yesterday: BTC spot ETFs saw net outflows of $373M for 5 consecutive sessions, while perp liquidations totaled $33.6M in shorts versus $8.3M in longs — shorts are being squeezed more this morning. Intraday scenarios: Base case (sideways): Hold $81.6k–$82k through the evening and wait for today's options expiry at 08:00 UTC, with max pain at $82k. Breakout up: A 4-hour close above $83,950 is needed, with a quick target of $84.7k–$85k. Breakdown: Losing $81,155 (yesterday's low) would make a retest of $80k likely. #Btc $BTC
• Interest rate expectations: According to the Fed Rate Monitor Tool – Investing.com, the odds strongly favor the Fed keeping rates unchanged at 3.75%–4.00% at its upcoming meeting on 28/10 (around 85.1%). • Exchange rates and markets: The State Bank of Vietnam lowered its central reference exchange rate by 4 dong to 25,633 dong/USD, while the U.S. Dollar Index (DXY) hovered around 101.82. • Liquidity support policy: The Fed is preparing to launch a Treasury bill reinvestment purchase program worth up to USD 14.612 billion, running from 19/10 to 9/11/2026. • Gold prices & stocks: Asian gold prices edged higher as investors scaled back expectations of further aggressive Fed rate hikes in the near term, while U.S. stocks had already recorded several positive developments. #TinFed $BTC $ETH $SOL
BTC NEXT WEEK: IS SELLING PRESSURE DRYING UP, OR HAS THE MARKET STILL NOT FINISHED DISTRIBUTING? One noteworthy detail in BTC’s price action this week: strong buying emerged around 80K, but subsequent rebounds still failed to hold on to their gains. Specifically, BTC swept down to 79.8K on sharply increased volume, then closed the day back above 82K. This was a positive reaction, showing that buyers absorbed some of the selling pressure at lower levels.
• Current interest rate: 3.75%–4.00% per year. • Near-term expectations: According to data from the rate-tracking tool, the market is pricing in about a 67.9% chance that the Fed will hold rates steady at its October 28, 2026 meeting, and about a 32.1% chance that it will raise rates by another 25 bps to 4.00%–4.25%. • Inflation and market backdrop: • Inflationary pressures in the U.S. remain persistent, prompting Fed officials, including the Fed Chair, to leave the door open to further policy tightening if necessary. • Global gold prices have fluctuated within the $4,100–$4,200 per ounce range amid signals from the Fed. • In Vietnam, the State Bank has adjusted the central exchange rate to around VND 25,600–25,640 per USD, while the VN-Index has held above 1,800 points.$AAPLB
• Current interest rate: The federal funds rate is being maintained in a range of 3.75%–4.00%. • September inflation pressures: The U.S. Consumer Price Index (CPI) accelerated more than forecast in September, mainly due to pressure from energy prices and rising transportation costs. • Likelihood of a rate hike in October: According to CME Group’s FedWatch tool, the probability that the Fed will raise rates by another 0.25% at its October 27–28, 2026 meeting has surged to around 50%–52%. • Views from Fed officials: • Some officials believe the Fed is in no rush to raise rates immediately, as it needs more data (such as the September PCE index, which will be released later this month). • However, some members have left open the possibility of further tightening if inflation does not cool quickly. • Market movements: In response to this information, U.S. Treasury yields rose, the U.S. dollar strengthened, and global stock markets saw a cautious pullback.$BTC #TinFed $ETH $SOL
HOW DOES BTC CLOSE ITS WEEK—IS IT REALLY WORTH TALKING ABOUT?
I think this part of BTC is interesting because price, ETF flow, and exchange flow are all giving fairly positive signals at the same time, but that’s not enough to rush into concluding that the trend has fully changed. From 17–25/9, the U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF recorded about $2.88 billion in net inflow. At the same time, around 31,400 BTC left exchanges during 22–25/9.
It sounds very bullish, but I also think this is an area where it’s easy to oversimplify. ETF inflow doesn’t automatically mean the price has to rise immediately. BTC leaving exchanges also doesn’t necessarily mean all of that is being held long-term. Great data is one thing—whether the market can absorb it and maintain the structure is another.
To me, this section doesn’t need to focus on how much BTC has already run. More important is whether, after the breakout, the market continues to accept the new price zone. If it holds, then price and new money flows will start to confirm each other more clearly. If not, then those pretty numbers above are still only supportive data, not trend confirmation.
So, guys— is BTC truly moving into a new leg, or is the market just showing you a nice picture before it tests the buying pressure again?
