Recently, people have been speculating: VN is about to have a national exchange to "collect taxes". Sounds reasonable? But the reality is more layered than that 👇
1. Until now, most VN people trade on Binance, OKX, Bybit… → The government has hardly collected any taxes, despite the fact that crypto transactions in VN are among the highest in the world.
2. If there is a national exchange, the benefits are clear:
Transparent tax collection.
Protect investors from scams and rug pulls.
Control money laundering and capital flow.
3. However, people are also rightly concerned:
Fear of monopolies and high fees.
Fear of losing financial freedom.
Fear that the main purpose is just to "collect taxes".
4. In reality, it is highly likely that the government will not open an exchange itself but will:
Grant licenses to VN businesses to operate.
Require reporting and compliance with KYC/AML.
