A few things to remember about perpetual and delivery contracts:
1) Delivery contracts don’t charge or pay funding fees. The price difference between a contract and the spot market is called the basis. The closer the contract gets to expiry, the closer the basis generally gets to zero.
2) Binance delivery contracts are set up quarterly. There are generally two: “current quarter” and “next quarter.” Their names indicate the quarter in which they expire.
3) If you hold a perpetual contract for a long time, include accumulated funding fees in your cost—don’t look only at price movements.

What is position size? Position value is the number of coins held multiplied by the price, so it also increases when the price rises. Comparing the number of coins held is what shows whether a new position was actually opened.
Position sizes vary greatly from coin to coin. It’s not unusual for smaller coins to swing by tens of percent in an hour or two, while moves of the same magnitude are much rarer for top coins.
Don’t place an order at the very peak of volatility. Wait for the candlestick to close before deciding.
