🚨 "Bitcoin Pharaoh" returns to Rio for in-person hearings
Glaidson Acácio dos Santos, known as the Bitcoin Pharaoh, will return to Rio de Janeiro following a decision by the Federal Court. The leader of GAS Consulting, accused of operating a financial pyramid with cryptoassets, had been imprisoned in the maximum-security prison of Catanduvas (PR) since 2023.
📅 He will participate in in-person hearings on the 7th, 8th, and 9th of October, at the 3rd Federal Criminal Court of RJ. There is still no confirmation about his return to Catanduvas after the hearings.
🔍 According to the Public Ministry, even after being arrested in 2021 during Operation Kryptos, Glaidson continued to lead a criminal organization involved in financial fraud, corruption, and even homicides of competitors in the crypto sector.
📉 GAS moved over R$ 38 billion and promised profits with supposed Bitcoin trading. The Justice indicates that the scheme was, in fact, a financial pyramid.
