BNB Chain wants to halve fees and speed up the network
Validators of BNB Chain proposed to reduce the minimum gas price from 0.1 to 0.05 Gwei and decrease block time from 750 to 450 ms.
If the changes are approved, the average fee will drop to $0.005 — this is almost at the level of Solana and Base.
Over the past year and a half, fees in the network have already been reduced twice, which allowed for a 140% increase in daily transactions — up to 12 million.
The long-term goal of the developers is to lower the fee to $0.001 per transaction.
