The presidential candidate and Colombian senator Miguel Uribe Turbay, severely injured in the head in an attack on June 7, died on the morning of this Monday.

His wife, María Claudia Tarazona, confirmed the information in a message published on social media. "You will always be the love of my life. I ask God to show me the way to learn to live without you," she wrote.

The senator, 39 years old, was in critical condition in the neurological Intensive Care Unit of the Fundación Santa Fe clinic in Bogotá, after receiving multiple bullet wounds, two in the skull and one in the left leg, while giving a speech in the Golfito park, in the Modelia neighborhood, Fontibón locality.
