Harvard holds $117 million in BlackRock Spot Bitcoin ETF shares
Breaking news: According to documents dated August 9, as of the end of the second quarter, Harvard University's portfolio holds $117 million in BlackRock Spot Bitcoin ETF (IBIT) shares. This is Harvard's fifth largest holding, surpassing Alphabet ($114 million) and only behind Microsoft (over $310 million). IBIT currently manages $84 billion in assets and is attracting a large number of institutional investors. Previously, the Abu Dhabi sovereign wealth fund held over $500 million in IBIT shares, while the Michigan retirement system reported holding nearly $11 million in ARK 21Shares Bitcoin ETF shares.
