Grayscale Investments announced that founder Barry Silbert has returned to serve as board chairman, succeeding Mark Shifke, who will remain a board member. This move comes as Grayscale prepares to advance its listing plans, having submitted a confidential IPO filing last month. Silbert stepped down as board chairman at the end of 2023, during a critical phase of the SEC's review of its GBTC conversion to a spot Bitcoin ETF, while its parent company DCG faced a lawsuit from the New York Attorney General due to the bankruptcy of Genesis and issues with the Gemini Earn project, with Silbert also being named.
