Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg attempted to lure an artificial intelligence (AI) engineer by offering record rewards.
According to The Wall Street Journal, citing sources, Zuckerberg offered engineer Andrew Tallok — co-founder of the startup Thinking Machines Lab — a reward package ranging from $ 1 billion to $ 1.5 billion but received a refusal.
Attempts to lure other specialists were also made: Meta (recognized as an extremist organization in Russia) contacted more than 100 employees of OpenAI, convincing at least ten to join them, including Chinese developer Shengjia Zhao. The company also managed to attract at least two employees from the startup Anthropic.
Zuckerberg is investing billions of dollars in creating a "superintelligence laboratory" and is actively expanding his team of AI specialists.
