Argentinian President Javier Milei promised to stop insulting political opponents. He explained that he wants to 'test whether they are capable of discussing ideas.' This decision followed the publication in the newspaper La Nacion of a piece that counted 611 insulting statements made by Milei over the last 100 days.

«I will stop using insults to test whether they are capable of discussing ideas. Because, in my opinion, they argue about methods as they lack the intellectual level to discuss ideas,» explained Milei. Earlier, he referred to some opponents as 'mental parasites,' criticizing their approach to budget policy.

At the same time, the president drew a historical parallel with Domingo Faustino Sarmiento — a 19th-century politician known by the nickname 'El Loco' ('The Madman'), who, despite his harsh manner of communication, implemented important reforms in the education system.

Milei's aggressive style, which includes profanity and sharp attacks against opponents, became his trademark even during his television appearances before being elected. As noted by La Nacion, this rhetoric against the 'caste' played a key role in his presidential campaign and continues after coming to power.
