🧱 Origins and Foundation (2017)
Founder: Changpeng Zhao (known as "CZ"), a Chinese-Canadian developer who previously worked on platforms such as Blockchain.info and was CTO of OKCoin.
Launch: July 2017.
ICO (Initial Coin Offering): Binance raised around 15 million dollars through an ICO for its native token, BNB (Binance Coin).
Binance was initially born in China but soon relocated due to the increasing restrictions of the Chinese government on cryptocurrencies.
🚀 Rapid Growth (2017–2019)
In just 6 months, Binance became the largest exchange in the world by trading volume.
They launched new features such as:
Binance Launchpad: Platform for launching new tokens.
Binance Academy: Educational portal.
Binance Labs: Investment fund and accelerator for crypto projects.
They began to expand globally, establishing offices in places like Malta (although they later distanced themselves from that jurisdiction).
Global Expansion and Diversification (2019–2021)
Binance began offering futures, margin, staking, and more financial products.
Binance Smart Chain (BSC): Launched in 2020, allowed developers to build DApps (decentralized applications) at low cost and high speed.
Binance also acquired other exchanges and products, such as CoinMarketCap in 2020.
