US Vice President Vance stated that the US is not at war with Iran, but is at war with Iran's nuclear program. He indicated that due to President Trump's order to strike Iran's nuclear facilities, the Iranian nuclear program has been significantly delayed.
The US B-2 bomber launched massive bunker buster bombs at Iran's major nuclear facilities on Sunday (June 22). Trump later said in a national address that Iran's nuclear facilities had been destroyed.
Reuters reported that US Vice President Vance said in an interview on NBC's program later on Sunday: 'We are not at war with Iran, but we are at war with Iran's nuclear program.'
He said: 'I think we have indeed significantly delayed their nuclear program (development). I believe it will take the Iranians many, many years to develop nuclear weapons.'
Vance accused Iran of not negotiating sincerely, prompting the US to take military action.
