$ADA And peace and mercy of Allah be upon you
The mentioned method is permissible in itself because the essence of the Walima (feast) Sunnah is fulfilled in this case. However, it would be better if people conduct the marriage simply in the mosque, and after the wedding, on the following day, the groom's family holds a Walima invitation with moderation according to their ability; because in this case, the Walima would be in the best way, and the common practice of inviting to the marriage, which is not Sunnah, would gradually diminish and come to an end.
People should adopt simplicity in the matter of marriage and avoid all forms of rituals, superstitions, and show-off; because marriage in Islam is not merely a worldly affair; rather, it has an aspect of worship as well; therefore, the simplicity established from the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and the Companions, etc., should be followed by the Ummah. There should be strict avoidance of extravagance, wastefulness, elaborate invitations, dowry, and various ritualistic transactions, etc. May Allah grant us success.
