$ETH And peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.
The mentioned method is permissible in itself because the essence of the Walima (feast) tradition is fulfilled in this manner. However, it is better if people conduct the marriage simply in the mosque, and after the wedding, the groom's family should hold a Walima invitation the next day in moderation according to their capacity; this is preferable because in this case, the Walima will be performed in the best manner, and the common practice of inviting to the marriage, which is not even a Sunnah, will gradually diminish.
People should adopt simplicity in matters of marriage; they should avoid all forms of rituals, superstitions, and ostentation; because marriage in Islam is not merely a worldly affair; rather, it has a worship aspect as well. Therefore, the simplicity established from the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) regarding marriage should be followed by the Ummah. They should strictly avoid extravagance, wasteful spending, elaborate invitations, dowries, and various ritualistic transactions, etc. May Allah grant us success.
