$BTC And peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.
The mentioned method in itself is permissible because the essence of the Walima tradition is fulfilled in this manner. However, if people conduct their marriages simply in the mosque and the groom's family holds a Walima invitation the next day according to their means and in moderation, it is better; because in this case, the Walima will be in the best manner and the common practice of inviting to the marriage, which is not even Sunnah, will gradually decrease and come to an end.
People should adopt simplicity in matters of marriage and avoid all forms of rituals, superstitions, and showiness; because marriage in Islam is not merely a worldly affair; rather, it also has an aspect of worship. Therefore, the simplicity established through the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and the companions should be followed by the Ummah. One should strictly avoid extravagance, wasteful spending, elaborate invitations, dowries, and various ritualistic exchanges. May Allah grant us success.
