The mentioned method is permissible in itself because the essence of the Walima tradition is fulfilled even in this case. However, if people were to conduct the marriage simply in the mosque and after the wedding, the groom's family could hold the Walima invitation the next day with moderation according to their ability, it would be better; because in this case the Walima would be in the best manner and the common practice of inviting to the marriage, which is not even a Sunnah, would gradually decrease and come to an end.
People should adopt simplicity in the matter of marriage; they should avoid all forms of rituals, superstitions, and showiness; because marriage in Islam is not merely a worldly affair; rather, it has an aspect of worship as well; therefore, the simplicity established by the Prophet (peace be upon him) and the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) in relation to marriage should be embraced by the Ummah. They should strictly avoid extravagance, wasteful spending, elaborate invitations, dowries, and various ritual transactions, etc. May Allah grant us success.
