$BTC UN "PATENT TROLL" CLAIMS THAT A FRACTION OF BITCOIN'S CRYPTOGRAPHY IS THEIRS. 🤔

I didn't see this coming! A supposed "patent troll" has emerged claiming to own part of the cryptography that makes Bitcoin function. According to this guy, who has not shown his face publicly, some algorithms or key pieces of Bitcoin's cryptography are under his patents. And of course, if we continue to use them, we would be infringing on his rights!

If this were true, things would get ugly. Imagine, there could be a flood of infringement lawsuits, and that could really affect how Bitcoin works, which has always been characterized by being decentralized. But many in the community find it very difficult for something like that to succeed. Bitcoin is based on open-source code and cryptography that is already well established.

As Dan Sánchez, a prominent figure in the crypto community, rightly said, "This is yet another attempt to muddy the waters in a space that is becoming increasingly relevant. The strength of Bitcoin lies in its open nature and global collaboration," but he has also launched a campaign called "DEFEND BITCOIN, KILL THE TROLL" to challenge Malilkie's accusations; this defense seeks to protect the principles of BITCOIN and its underlying technologies.

Moreover, the way Bitcoin operates, pseudonymously and distributed, complicates the application of traditional intellectual property laws. Legal experts in technology are already pondering the matter, but almost all agree that these challenges are part of the journey of any technology that comes to change everything.
