A solo miner created Bitcoin block 899,826 on Wednesday night (4) and received 3.151 BTC as a reward — equivalent to about R$ 1.8 million, considering the quote of R$ 586 thousand (US$ 104,242) per unit.
As shown by the block on the Mempool platform, the reward for the miner using the Solo CK pool also includes the transaction fees present in the mined block, totaling 0.026 BTC (US$ 2,761), which were added to the block reward.
Given the current size of the market and the presence of large mining companies, the chances of a solo miner finding a Bitcoin block are extremely small. Still, some users bet on this strategy — even knowing that success is rare — and occasionally manage to be rewarded.
Just remember that in the past, in the early days of Bitcoin, many miners achieved what is now seen as an accomplishment, but which has occasionally happened, meaning that from time to time a solo miner wins the competition, which is like winning the lottery.
Last month, another solo Bitcoin miner earned R$ 1.5 million (3.15 BTC) using just a modest home setup. In February, it was another miner's turn to beat the odds and earn R$ 1.7 million.
