If you really want to make a living through trading, let me say a few words first.
On this path, in the end, the only companion you have is loneliness—not the kind of solitude without anyone around, but the realm of standing at the top of the mountain looking at the world.
Those seasoned traders who have been in the market for years, which one of them isn’t counting money in heaven during the day and eating noodles in hell at night? When they earn, they can only raise a glass to the K-line by themselves; when they lose, they can't even find a shoulder to cry on.
Why is it so miserable? Firstly, your parents will think you are not doing anything meaningful. If you succeed after five years, they will think, "My son is talented after all"; if you fail, the whole family can use you as a negative example. What's even scarier is that you will find yourself becoming increasingly "abnormal"—always able to see the essence of things, becoming more direct in speech, even old friends feel like you have become a stranger. It’s like a veteran returning from the battlefield; those who have never held a gun cannot understand what you have gone through.
The most critical period is the low point. You will experience a collapse of worldview, depression to the point of wanting to crash into a wall, and being treated like a madman by everyone. Too many people become obsessed during this stage: crying and laughing in front of the computer in the middle of the night, smashing keyboards when losing money, even experiencing auditory hallucinations... There’s no one to confide in, relying solely on yourself to tough it out.
But those who come through are all tough characters! Every surviving trader is like a lone wolf, only trusting their own trading system. Occasionally, they gather for drinks, and the conversation falls flat—it's not that they don’t want to talk, but their strategies simply can’t find common ground. So, think carefully before you embark on this journey; this line of work is truly not for humans. But if you can endure, you will find that loneliness is the strongest armor. Wishing all you retail traders... oh no, I mean, wishing all traders good fortune in trading!
