PANews May 15 news, according to Cryptoslate, Sandeep Nailwal, co-founder of Polygon, recently revealed that scammers are using AI technology to fabricate videos of his likeness to target startups in the cryptocurrency industry. The scammers first hacked the Telegram account of Shreyansh Singh, the head of Polygon Ventures, and then contacted startups within the ecosystem, luring victims into a Zoom meeting under the pretext of investment discussions. During the meeting, the scammers used AI-generated images of Nailwal, Singh, and fictitious team members (with no audio interaction) to deceive participants into installing malicious software development kits. Nailwal stated that several entrepreneurs have sought to verify the authenticity of the meeting. Nailwal advised community members not to install unfamiliar software during unsolicited interactions and emphasized the importance of operational norms, urging cryptocurrency users to separate wallet signature activities from daily device usage. He stated: 'These attack methods are becoming increasingly sophisticated, so the best practice is to use a separate laptop exclusively for signing operations through your wallet and absolutely not to use this computer for any other wallet-related activities.'
