Arthur Hayes predicts Bitcoin will reach one million dollars by 2028, how does traditional finance view this?
Former BitMEX CEO Arthur Hayes predicts that by 2028, the price of Bitcoin will reach an astonishing one million dollars! This is the boldest prediction to date.
However, some institutions on Wall Street are quickly catching up to Hayes' vision, such as BlackRock and the CEO of Social Capital, who predict a target price for Bitcoin between 500,000 and 700,000 dollars.
In an interview with analyst Kyle Chassé, Hayes detailed the logic behind his prediction. He believes that the global financial system may face collapse, and Bitcoin will become the ultimate hedge tool. He predicts that as market liquidity increases, Bitcoin could soar to 250,000 dollars by the end of 2025, and then further surge to one million dollars due to "ever-expanding deficits, devaluation, and digital scarcity."
Chassé analyzed Hayes' thought process in a series of posts on X. He pointed out that Bitcoin is no longer a simple risk asset but may become the "systemic shutoff" when the global financial system collapses.
Hayes believes the world is splitting into different economic groups, and the U.S. and China are gradually decoupling. If the traditional financial system collapses, U.S. Treasury repurchases, bond market panic, and "currency explosion" will drive institutional investors to flock to Bitcoin.
Although Hayes' predictions sound aggressive, traditional finance's views on Bitcoin are gradually aligning with his. Due to strong demand for spot Bitcoin ETFs, reduced supply after the halving, and a favorable macro environment, several institutions have recently raised their target prices for Bitcoin.
Notably, Fundstrat's Tom Lee and HC Wainwright predict that Bitcoin will reach between 225,000 and 250,000 dollars by 2025. Standard Chartered and Matrixport have raised their year-end targets to 200,000 dollars, while VanEck believes the cycle top could reach 250,000 dollars.
