The stock exchanges of Mexico are operating with significant losses this Friday morning. The local indices are falling as traders absorb better-than-expected employment data in the United States and continue to take profits from recent gains.

The leading index S&P/BMV IPC, of the Mexican Stock Exchange (BMV), which groups the most traded local stocks, decreases by 1.23% to 55,566.03 points. The FTSE BIVA index, of the Institutional Stock Exchange (Biva), falls by 1.27% to 1,127.81 points.

Within the benchmark index, most of the stocks are operating with losses. Notable declines include Grupo Financiero Banorte, down 5.20% to 159.75 pesos; FEMSA, losing 3.92% to 198.28 pesos, and Grupo Televisa, which loses 3.64% to 6.88 pesos.

Investors continue to take profits after the good performance of the market in April. Participants are selling despite positive news in the trade sector, while also studying non-farm payroll data against expectations in the United States.
