According to Odaily, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Commissioner Hester Peirce, in an interview with Fortune, expressed her stance on the agency's enforcement actions. While she does not support previous enforcement measures, Peirce emphasized that this does not imply the SEC will cease enforcement when necessary. She warned that those in the cryptocurrency industry should not assume they have a 'free pass,' as this could lead to fraudulent activities being labeled under the 'cryptocurrency' tag. Peirce affirmed that the SEC will continue to pursue securities violations as usual.

Additionally, Peirce mentioned that the SEC is working on establishing its own regulatory framework for the cryptocurrency sector. Although she did not provide a specific timeline, she noted that parts of the plan, such as designing a taxonomy for crypto securities, are expected to be completed within the year.
