🤖 OpenAI has seen at least 14 senior leaders leave this year.
According to Business Insider and The Wall Street Journal, at least 14 senior executives and key leaders have left OpenAI in 2026.
The departures span almost every major area:
Business
Product
Research
Safety
Ethics
Infrastructure
Enterprise AI
Marketing
Among those who have left are senior figures including Denise Dresser, Brad Lightcap, Fidji Simo, Kevin Weil, Bill Peebles, Kate Rouch, Caitlin Kalinowski and data center chief Chris Malone.
The reasons aren't all the same.
Some left to start new companies.
Some stepped away for health reasons.
Others were affected by restructuring and team changes.
But the timing is interesting.
OpenAI has reportedly secretly filed IPO paperwork in June, while simultaneously going through one of the biggest leadership reshuffles in its history.
An AI company preparing for an IPO while losing 14+ senior leaders?
That's one hell of a management refresh. 👀
Do you think this is normal restructuring ahead of an IPO, or a sign that OpenAI has problems internally?
