Chainlink announces CCIP v1.5 upgrade on mainnet

The #Chainlink #CCIP v1.5 upgrade is now live on mainnet for all developers. This upgrade enables developers to seamlessly take their tokens cross-chain through a self-service approach, deploy Cross-Chain Tokens (CCTs) on over 20 blockchains in minutes and more. #CCT standard simplifies token integration with CCIP while eliminating the need for developers to modify token contract code.

As part of this upgrade, CCIP is extending Circle's Bridged USDC Standard to more blockchains, aiming to minimize liquidity fragmentation and promote DeFi adoption within the multi-chain ecosystem.

Chainlink announces the launch of Chainlink Payment Abstraction

#Chainlink launches Chainlink Payment Abstraction on mainnet, a cross-chain-enabled payment system that significantly reduces payment friction. Payment Abstraction allows users to settle payments for Chainlink services using alternative assets, which are seamlessly converted into $LINK through a combination of Chainlink Automation, Price Feeds, #CCIP and a decentralized exchange.

Payment Abstraction has been deployed into production with an initial focus on converting network fees generated by Chainlink Smart Value Recapture, an oracle solution that helps #DeFi apps reclaim non-toxic MEV from Chainlink Data Feeds. Recaptured fees are shared between DeFi apps and the Chainlink Network.

The operating president of DTCC, the most influential woman in the world’s financial industry, said in an interview yesterday:
We cannot accomplish this task alone. That’s why we’ve teamed up with fellow financial market infrastructures, Euroclear (which handles the settlement of pan-European equity bonds) and Clearstream, to publish a new report outlining the way forward to grow this ecosystem in a moderated and collaborative way. We are excited to announce this report at Consensus 2024 at the end of May.

JPMorgan, Templeton, BNY Mellon and other 10 largest banks completed CCIP pilot
