Privacy blockchain project Beldex announces the completion of a $8 million funding round led by Sigma Capital, with participation from institutions including NTC, Nxgen, Digital Consensus Fund, and EAK Ventures.
This round of funding will focus on four areas: improving developer tools, developing privacy applications, upgrading protocol security, and building AI infrastructure and expanding the ecosystem.
Of particular note is that Beldex is exploring a “privacy + AI” integration path. It will use its privacy technology stack to provide end-to-end protection for AI agents, covering scenarios such as privacy-preserving AI identities, encrypted AI communications, confidential payments, secure AI execution, and more. It is also researching cutting-edge technologies including fully homomorphic encryption (FHE) and secure memory.
As competition in the AI Agent track heats up, the privacy layer is becoming a new value sink. When AI agents begin to handle identities, payments, and data autonomously, privacy protection will move from an “optional feature” to a “must-have.” Beldex’s funding round is both a bet on the privacy narrative and a reflection of the market’s growing focus on data sovereignty in the AI era.
The $8 million amount isn’t massive, but the direction is clear: embedding privacy technology into the foundational layer of next-generation AI infrastructure.
