🚨 Echo Protocol Exploit on Monad: ~$76M eBTC Minting Attack

Echo Protocol suffered a major exploit on May 19, 2026. An attacker compromised the single-signature admin key of the eBTC contract, minted ~1,000 unbacked eBTC (~$76.7M), and extracted ~$820K–$860K in WBTC/ETH (laundered via Tornado Cash).

Key points:
- Monad chain itself not hacked - isolated to Echo’s admin privileges.
- Echo regained control, burned the remaining ~955 eBTC.
- ECHO token dropped ~11%+.

Limited liquidity on Monad capped the attacker’s realized profit. User funds on other protocols appear safe.
