Boundless is a proving infrastructure built around zero-knowledge technology. Instead of every blockchain, rollup, or app having to set up its own heavy proving system, Boundless lets them outsource that work to a decentralized network of external provers. These provers handle the hard computational job of generating and verifying proofs, making the whole process faster, cheaper, and more scalable.

At the core, Boundless uses a zkVM (RISC Zero’s virtual machine) that allows developers to write normal programs, then turn them into proofs of correct execution. Provers run a system called Bento, which manages proof jobs across GPUs and clusters, while the Broker coordinates bidding, payments, and proof delivery between requestors and provers.

To keep the network secure and fair, Boundless has its own token called ZK Coin (ZKC). Provers stake it as collateral and earn rewards through something called Proof of Verifiable Work (PoVW)—basically, they get paid for producing real, useful zero-knowledge proofs. Builders or apps can pay for proofs in ETH, USDC, or other tokens, but ZKC underpins the system’s incentives.
