Stress, Stroke and Crypto: What I Learned

I discovered Bitcoin early, around 2010. Its price was ridiculous, but opening a wallet seemed too complicated. I watched from a distance. When it exploded, I didn't dare to enter, thinking I had missed the boat. It disgusted me, so I focused on my job: roofer.

In 2021, I tried the adventure again. I put in some money, I earned, I thought I was strong... I dreamed of leaving construction, physically hard work. But then the bear market hit: falling prices, FTX collapsed, war in Ukraine... I lost money. Despite everything, I reinvested during the downturn, up to €10,000. Then life caught up with me: the birth of my child, troubles at work... I withdrew everything at the beginning of 2023. Seeing SOL at 8.$ rise to over $200, or ETH at 800.$ explode, gave me that bitter taste of FOMO. But I told myself: "It's not lost, I gained experience."

Then, on May 29, 2024, everything changed. At 35, I had a stroke. In the hospital, I had a second one, then a TIA. Three weeks in intensive care, a month and a half of hospitalization. Almost no aftereffects, except for a quarter of my vision lost... No more work, no more income. I live on my savings, forced to sell my car. I lose a lot materially, but it's just material.

Today, I look at life differently. The stress, from work and finance, played a role. But one thing remains: my passion for crypto. I dedicate myself even more, I analyze, I search. I'm not a pro, but there are real opportunities. Not just the dream of "finding the magic coin" that does x1000, but patience, small gains that accumulate, the money we make work.

On this page, I want to share: mistakes, lessons, discoveries. Not to sell a dream, but to show that with discipline and intelligence, crypto can be a path. I still believe in it. Despite the hardships, I hold on to that dream.
