#Funding I noticed that there are people being deducted 100u in Funding fees and many new participants in the Futures market are being charged high Funding fees without knowing how to calculate them. I'm posting this to share how to calculate Funding fees for those who are unfamiliar.
I will take the example of PTB, whose current Funding Rate is -0.67 (see the image below). The negative sign here means that if you take a Short position, you will be charged a Funding fee. If you take a Long position, you will receive a Funding fee. Conversely, if the Funding Rate is positive, Long positions will be charged a fee, and Short positions will receive a fee.
The formula for calculating the Funding fee is: Funding Fee = Total position volume x Funding Rate. For example, for PTB shown in the image. If you open a Short position of 100u with a leverage of x20, your total position volume is 100x20 = 2000u. According to the Funding fee calculation formula, after the current cycle ends (when the time next to the Funding Rate approaches 0), the Short position holders have to pay a Funding fee = 2000 x 0.67% = 13.4$. Conversely, Long position holders will receive 13.4$. The Funding Rate is calculated based on the price difference between the Spot and Futures markets. You can check the Funding fee history to see what the highest Funding fee was.
