32 halvings.
There have been four halvings so far: in 2012, 2016, 2020, and 2024. There will only be 32. After the 32nd halving, around 2140, no new Bitcoin will be created. The next halving will take place in 2028, and the block reward will be 1.5625 Bitcoin.
