🚫🚫 HOW IS THE PI COMMUNITY BRAINWASHED LIKE MULTI-LEVEL MARKETING?
In multi-level marketing, those who join first deceive those who join later. A product with extremely low value is inflated, which has previously led to the destruction of many families. They commonly share an illusion of a wealthy future, becoming millionaires, etc. Most participants have limited knowledge; they are farmers, students, etc. However, this community is very large (from 2005 to 2012 was a booming period for multi-level marketing, with millions participating in Vietnam alone). Ultimately, everyone goes home, and only a few at the top (leaders) manage to collect a lot of money and disappear.
PI, with a community of over 60 million people, but in reality, 99% of them know nothing about crypto, and many have never even heard of the Binance exchange or trading concepts. They follow recommendations from acquaintances and friends and "click on the lightning bolt" to receive free PI. Individuals who frequently post to attract the community's attention to PI have malicious intent to dump PI into the less informed community (PI has a total supply of 100 billion coins), so the risks are enormous. Flattering phrases like "huge community, 60 million users" only represent the number of people who "clicked the lightning bolt" and do not know what PI, BITCOIN, or ETH are, and they cannot be considered a community like Doge, SHIB, or XRP. Therefore, in reality, the PI community is not as strong as they claim; it is entirely illusory.
They describe PI as even better than BTC, similar to the delusional writing style of multi-level marketing, and they even criticize Binance.

CZ has proposed a token release mechanism with the following rules:

Initially, 10% of the tokens are unlocked and sold on the market, with the proceeds used for product development, marketing, employee salaries, etc.

Subsequent unlocks must meet all of the following conditions:

- At least 6 months have passed since the previous unlock.
- The token price has maintained at least twice the price of the previous unlock for over 30 consecutive days immediately before the unlock.
- Each unlock can be a maximum of 5% of the tokens.

For example: If the initial price is $1 in January, by June if the price is below $2 then it cannot be unlocked. If the price is above $2 from July 4 to August 3, it can unlock 5% on August 3. If the price at that time is $3, then the earliest subsequent unlock would be March 3 of the following year, and only if the price is above $6 for more than 30 days.

The project team can delay or reduce the amount unlocked, but cannot increase or shorten the time. Tokens are locked by smart contracts, managed by a third party.

Goal: Avoid token dilution when prices are low and encourage the team to build long-term. CZ emphasizes that this is just an idea for discussion, not a practical plan.

Binance's recent actions towards the Pi Network highlight a troubling double standard in its listing processes.

The exchange has asked the Pi community to vote for its listing, imposing strict conditions that seem disproportionate compared to how other meme coins—often lacking substantial utility—were treated.

While established projects with meaningful use cases like Pi face additional hurdles, less serious tokens gain listings without the same scrutiny.
