It kills trees to write its name on the dead trunk, it dries up rivers to fill its pools with mirages.
It laughs, stupidity, at the cries of a child, at the tears of a mother, at the flames on the hill, it laughs because it does not see.
It believes itself great when it crushes ants, when it nails wings to the backs of birds to keep them on the ground.
Yet, sometimes, in a burst of light, a silence falls and in that silence we feel its emptiness.
Stupidity is not born from shadows, but from fear, from the refusal to learn, from the refusal to love.
And maybe one day, when hands reach out
instead of hitting, when eyes open instead of judging, it will leave, stupidity, through the small door of humanity rediscovered."
