Chamath Palihapitiya, known as the "King of SPACs," has expressed his concern about Nvidia Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA) and accused the company of not acting in the interest of the United States.
What happened In an episode of the All-In podcast released over the weekend, Palihapitiya criticized Nvidia for its alleged efforts to evade U.S. export controls designed to limit China's access to cutting-edge AI chips.
"How is it possible that Alibaba presents something incredible and DeepSeek something even better?" questioned Palihapitiya, suggesting that Nvidia chips might be reaching Chinese hands.
He noted that, following the U.S. ban on the sale of high-end GPUs like the A100 and H100 to China, Nvidia quickly launched slightly modified versions — the A800 and H800 — which minimally reduced data transfer speed to comply with export rules, without losing much of the performance.
