The automation of reinvestment in DeFi protocols is really nice.
Let me praise AutoMint & Stake on BeraPaw. After authorizing, there's no need for manual Claim and Stake operations anymore.
I remember when I was playing in 2021, some DeFi Farm protocols had automated reinvestment that was triggered.
The most common method was that whenever anyone called the contract of the mining pool, it would automatically extract and distribute the earnings of all participants in the pool. The downside of this is that the person calling the contract has to pay Gas fees that are dozens of times higher than non-automated reinvestment protocols.
The benefit of this design, besides helping everyone with automatic reinvestment, is that the high Gas fees for calling the contract also make many small investors reluctant to withdraw after depositing, which effectively increases some users and TVL.
From this perspective, it is indeed the high Gas that hinders the activity of DeFi protocols.
Of course, the design of BeraPaw also benefits from Berachain's almost negligible ultra-low Gas.
Just that, in my watchlist, everything is green except for $BERA which has a bit of red, and it's ranked third in the decline list. Is this flywheel moving downwards? 🤔
