The judge sentenced Chow to four (4) months.
He did not show any reaction to the sentence issued against him. He came to trial accompanied by his mother, a number of his family members residing in the states, and a number of protection men. The agency quoted a brief statement by the Binance founder that he presented to the judge:
“I am sorry.. I believe that the first step to taking responsibility is to fully acknowledge the mistakes. I failed to implement an appropriate anti-money laundering program... I now realize the seriousness of that mistake.”
Chow is scheduled to voluntarily surrender to serve his prison sentence. Most likely at a detention center near Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.
