Weekly Highlights

  1. Completed testing for the new version of CESS Node, and it is expected to be ready for use shortly.

  2. Upgraded the storage node’s go-p2p module to fix issues with the data transfer process and added support for customizable functionality in the data read/write module to facilitate application expansion.

  3. Optimized the DeOSS caching module to meet a wider range of data caching needs and upgraded the data scheduling strategy for more events and distributed data transmission to adjacent storage nodes.

  4. CESS sponsored and co-hosted a series of events in Dubai, joining with numerous participants, enthusiasts, and contributors at this crypto industry gathering to showcase innovative decentralized storage and CDN technology in the DePIN realm.

Project Development Details

The CESS testnet has been updated to v0.7.6 and consists of a consensus node and a storage node. Consensus Node maintains the world state of the CESS network (by CESS Node) and serves as the “data authentication station” (by TEE Worker). Storage Node provides verifiable storage space and serves as the “data storage pool” in the CESS network.

  1. Consensus Node [v0.7.6]

  • Completed testing of the CESS Node EVM module’s basic smart contract functionality.

  • Tested the reward distribution mechanism for the new version of CESS Node.

  • Tested user-agent authorization of DeOSS functionality in CESS Node.

2. Storage Node [v0.7.10]

  • Upgraded the go-p2p library to support customizable functionality extensions in the data read/write module.

  • Fixed an issue in the go-p2p library’s data transmission module where it would not exit properly after completing the read/write of the last data block.

CESS is a blockchain powered decentralized storage and content delivery network (CDN) infrastructure for Web3. By utilizing a decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN) model, CESS drives mass deployment of network nodes globally through incentives. The first of its kind, decentralized object storage services (DeOSS) by CESS has significantly contributed to the gradual enrichment and flourishing of the product ecosystem within the CESS network, online file sharing tool (DeShare), and public chain snapshot storage services have been incubated. The developments for this week are as follows:

Decentralized Object Storage Service (DeOSS)

  • Optimized DeOSS’s handling of cached files to manage a wider range of user data caching types.

  • Upgraded the DeOSS cache management module to provide developers with more flexible cache usage.

  • Upgraded the DeOSS data scheduling strategy for more even and distributed data scheduling to adjacent storage nodes.

CESS Website (cess.cloud)

  • Refactored the CESS storage network data monitoring program to align with Substats for consistent data display on the official website.

Blockchain Explorer (Substats):

  • Completed the development of the frontend main display pages for the new version of blockchain explorer.

Testnet

Overview:

The number of storage nodes has exceeded 10,000. 81 days after the v0.7.6 testnet was launched. More details on CESS blockchain explorer. If you encounter any issues building a node, please seek assistance on CESS Discord.

  • 28 consensus nodes

  • 10,143 storage nodes

  • 17.00 PiB verified storage space

  • 37.09 PiB total storage space

Event:

The miner reward event for the CESS testnet continued as storage and consensus miners can earn points by participating. The ongoing miner reward event in the CESS testnet incentivizes participation from storage and consensus miners, allowing them to earn points while contributing to the network’s growth and development.

Community Activities

CESS sponsored and actively participated in the Web3 Summit Dubai, a premier event for the blockchain community. On April 16th, we dove into the first day’s activities, engaging with industry leaders and innovators to explore the latest advancements in Web3. CESS Co-Founder Nicholas delivered a speech about How CESS Empowers Enterprises and AI on Web3.

CESS was at the forefront of hosting engaging events in Dubai. We co-hosted ‘The Night of 2049 Token EVE’ alongside esteemed partners OOKC Labs and Port3 Network.

Later that evening, we were thrilled to sponsor and participate in ‘Disrupt with DePIN’ at Token 2049 Dubai, where we delved deeper into groundbreaking blockchain innovations, networking with peers, and sharing our insights and vision for the future.

CESS was deeply engaged in various activities that fostered networking and knowledge exchange. We participated in the Meme Night Cocktail Reception, hosted by Metis and FreeLabs, an evening dedicated to networking and building connections within the blockchain community.

Additionally, CESS was actively involved in other key events, including Jessie’s participation in the Duke Web3 Investor Soirée by Ga³in Ventures.

Looking ahead, we also joined the ThreeDAO Creator Camp, a dynamic platform that brought together creators and innovators to explore the intersection of narrative and consensus in the Web3 realm.

We are excited to participate in the Duke Web3 Pitch Competition & VC Networking event in Dubai, further solidifying our commitment to driving innovation in the blockchain space.
