Weekly Highlights
CESS completed the deployment and testing of EVM contracts, ensuring good support for developers using Solidity smart contracts to build web3 applications in the CESS ecosystem.
Fixed an issue where storage nodes failed to find other nodes using DHT, an upgrade to the p2p node discovery service, and optimization of the storage node user file receiving module to further enhance the stability and efficiency of the CESS storage resources layer.
Optimization of the DeOSS caching module and user file scheduling module was also completed this week, improving file upload and download services for a better user experience.
CESS was invited to participate and exhibit at the TEAMZ Web3/AI Summit 2024 in Japan.
CESS attended the Bitcoin Summit in Washington.
CESS Co-Founder, Joseph Li, participated in Bitrue Asks event “Depin and AI: Latest Crypto Trends” and space event “Inside Look at the Hong Kong Web3 Festival 2024”.
Project Development Details
The CESS testnet has been updated to v0.7.6 and consists of a consensus node and a storage node. Consensus Node maintains the world state of the CESS network (by CESS Node) and serves as the “data authentication station” (by TEE Worker). Storage Node provides verifiable storage space and serves as the “data storage pool” in the CESS network.
Consensus Node [v0.7.7]
Completed testing of CESS Node EVM module smart contract deployment.
Fixed TEE Worker service interruption after restart.
2. Storage Node [v0.7.10]
Optimized storage node p2p node discovery service, introducing a node message subscription mechanism to improve node discovery efficiency.
Fixed storage node DHT table lookup failure due to PeerId decoding error.
Optimized storage node user file receiving module to reject receiving user files when the node cannot communicate with the CESS chain to prevent invalid transfers.
CESS is a blockchain powered decentralized storage and content delivery network (CDN) infrastructure for Web3. By utilizing a decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN) model, CESS drives mass deployment of network nodes globally through incentives. The first of its kind, decentralized object storage services (DeOSS) by CESS has significantly contributed to the gradual enrichment and flourishing of the product ecosystem within the CESS network, online file sharing tool (DeShare), and public chain snapshot storage services have been incubated. The developments for this week are as follows:
Decentralized Object Storage Service (DeOSS)
Optimized DeOSS caching service to automatically clear the least recently accessed user files when the cache usage exceeds 80%.
Upgraded DeOSS user file scheduling module to support uploading files using a user-specified list of storage nodes.
Fixed DeOSS node selection module’s inability to access specific storage nodes based on IP information.
Added configuration and parsing functions to the DeOSS cache module and node selection module, allowing users to manage these modules more granularly.
CESS Website (cess.cloud)
Fixed the issue where the transaction status was not promptly confirmed after users purchased nodes in the official website’s genesis node event.
Fixed the issue where users were unable to claim CESS test coins due to the inability to connect to the RPC node on the official website faucet page.
Testnet
Overview:
74 days after the v0.7.6 testnet was launched. More details on CESS blockchain explorer. If you encounter any issues building a node, please seek assistance on CESS Discord.
27 consensus nodes
9,397 storage nodes
13.73 PiB verified storage space
58.12 PiB total storage space
Event:
The miner reward event for the CESS testnet continued as storage and consensus miners can earn points by participating. The ongoing miner reward event in the CESS testnet incentivizes participation from storage and consensus miners, allowing them to earn points while contributing to the network’s growth and development.
