Project Development Details
The CESS testnet has been updated to v0.7.6 and consists of a consensus node and a storage node. Consensus Node maintains the world state of the CESS network (by CESS Node) and serves as the “data authentication station” (by TEE Worker). Storage Node provides verifiable storage space and serves as the “data storage pool” in the CESS network.
Consensus Node [v0.7.7]
Upgraded error propagation mechanism in the TEE Worker idle space proof module for enhanced program stability.
Completed unified management of idle space proof parameters by CESS Node, ensuring algorithm version consistency across the entire network.
2. Storage Node [v0.7.10]
Added transaction error event parsing functionality to storage nodes, enabling precise output of transaction failure reasons.
Upgraded storage node P2P module to reduce the number of network connections during node discovery.
CESS is a blockchain powered decentralized storage and content delivery network (CDN) infrastructure for Web3. By utilizing a decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN) model, CESS drives mass deployment of network nodes globally through incentives. The first of its kind, decentralized object storage services (DeOSS) by CESS has significantly contributed to the gradual enrichment and flourishing of the product ecosystem within the CESS network, online file sharing tool (DeShare), and public chain snapshot storage services have been incubated. The developments for this week are as follows:
Decentralized Object Storage Service (DeOSS)
Added cache module to go-sdk, enabling developers to construct data upload or download caches.
Introduced data cache management module in DeOSS to periodically clear inactive user data, ensuring efficient disk resource utilization.
Upgraded node management module in DeOSS to automatically collect communication and reputable storage nodes for data upload or download.
Enhanced P2P network node discovery service in DeOSS to improve efficiency while reducing connection count.
CESS Website (cess.cloud)
Fixed instability issues with the website’s simplified payment verification (SPV) wallet RPC connection.
Resolved backend issues with the genesis node activity on the website due to database connection failures.
Testnet
Overview:
67 days after the v0.7.6 testnet was launched. More details on CESS blockchain explorer. If you encounter any issues building a node, please seek assistance on CESS Discord.
26 consensus nodes
8,142 storage nodes
12.32 PiB verified storage space
47.82 PiB total storage space
Event:
The miner reward event for the CESS testnet continued as storage and consensus miners can earn points by participating. The ongoing miner reward event in the CESS testnet incentivizes participation from storage and consensus miners, allowing them to earn points while contributing to the network’s growth and development.
Community Activities
CESS participated in the 2024 annual first council meeting of the Hong Kong Web3.0 Standardization Association, hosted by OKLink Blockchain Holdings Limited. Discussions included the development of Hong Kong Web3.0, industry directions such as Depin and RWA, and in-depth discussions on green finance, GameFi, and other fields, receiving suggestions from members of the association’s advisory committee. This meeting marked CESS’s deep involvement and contribution to the standardization process of the Web3.0 industry. Through the successful promotion of the IEEE P3233 “Decentralized Storage Protocol Specification Based on Blockchain” proposal, CESS demonstrated its leading position and innovative strength in decentralized storage technology. As a member, CESS will continue to uphold the spirit of innovation and contribute to building a more open, fair, and secure Web3.0 ecosystem.
