Navin Gupta, who previously served as the CEO at Ripple, now assumes the position of CEO at Crystal Blockchain, specializing in providing blockchain intelligence.

Marina Khaustova, the former CEO of Crystal, transitions to the role of Chief Operating Officer.

Crystal Blockchain Attracts Ripple Expert to Strengthen Regulatory Compliance

Gupta was chosen by Crystal Blockchain for his extensive experience in the crypto sector at Ripple and in traditional banking at HSBC and Citi, as stated in the company's official announcement.

"Gupta's mission at Crystal is to expand the offering of blockchain intelligence services among global regulators, VASPs (Virtual Asset Service Providers), the traditional financial sector, and other stakeholders in the crypto industry."

Crystal emphasizes that the recent approval of 11 spot bitcoin ETFs by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) signals growing interest in digital assets.

Gupta's appointment aims to ensure proactive competitiveness and compliance with regulations, according to the company's statement.

Amid Ripple's ongoing efforts to recruit international talent for its company, global regulatory uncertainty persists.

Ripple Focuses on Foreign Talent

In September 2023, BeInCrypto reported that according to Brad Garlinghouse, CEO of Ripple, over 80% of this year's Ripple recruitment will be outside the USA, with a focus on government-industry collaboration and clear rules in jurisdictions like Singapore, Hong Kong, and Dubai.

While elsewhere in the world, requirements for recruiting new cryptocurrency managers are tightening.

BeInCrypto stated on February 5 that the South Korean Financial Services Commission (FSC) plans to increase oversight of movements of executives in cryptocurrency firms for greater transparency in the industry.

The positive trend in the price of Bitcoin and the approval of a spot Bitcoin ETF have brought new momentum to the industry.

Recently, Kraken announced the arrival of a new executive from rival exchange Coinbase as part of its strategy to adapt to the constantly changing regulations in the crypto space.

Marcus Hughes, former Executive Director for European Activities at Coinbase and Chief Legal Officer for International Operations, has taken on the role of Global Chief Regulatory Strategy Officer at Kraken.
