🚨 Putin Warns: Russia Will Push Military Goals if No Deal with Ukraine
Russia has rejected calls for a ceasefire as its forces continue advancing in Ukraine. Speaking in China after a large military parade seen as a challenge to Donald Trump and the US-led order, President Vladimir Putin said Moscow would pursue all its objectives militarily if Kyiv refuses a deal.
Trump has tried to mediate, praising Putin’s “sincere desire” while urging him to end the war. Last month, Trump hosted Putin in Alaska, breaking his international isolation and encouraging him to meet Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky. Putin, however, questioned whether such talks would be meaningful, saying Zelensky could travel to Moscow—something Kyiv called “completely unacceptable.”
UK Defence Secretary John Healey, during a visit to Kyiv, told the BBC that while Trump had managed to bring Putin to the table, more pressure might still be needed. Britain and its allies, he said, are prepared to tighten economic measures on Russia and increase aid to Ukraine.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian leaders continue pressing Trump to impose tougher sanctions on Moscow and boost support for Ukraine’s defenses. Trump, hosting Polish President Karol Nawrocki at the White House, later remarked: “Putin knows where I stand. He’ll make his decision one way or another.”
