✅ What are stablecoins (إيه هي العملات المستقرة) ?
They are cryptocurrencies with a value that is relatively stable and often pegged to a traditional currency like the dollar or euro.
This means if there are 1 million stablecoins, there must be 1 million dollars in reserve in the bank 💵.
---
💎 Types of stablecoins (أنواع العملات المستقرة):
🔹 1. Fiat-backed (مدعومة بفلوس حقيقية)
Like USDT (Tether) and USDC… each one is pegged to the dollar.
✔ Advantages: Stable and easy to understand.
✖ Disadvantages: You have to trust the company behind it and conduct continuous audits.
🔹 2. Crypto-backed
Like DAI… backed by digital currencies like Bitcoin or Ethereum, with added collateral to maintain its value.
✔ Advantages: Decentralized and transparent.
✖ Disadvantages: Complex and subject to market risks.
🔹 3. Algorithmic
Not backed by anything, uses algorithms to control supply and demand to keep the price stable.
Example: Ampleforth (AMPL).
✔ Advantages: Fully decentralized.
✖ Disadvantages: If the system fails… everything collapses!
