🇻🇪🕊️ MADURO MAKES AN UNEXPECTED WINK TO TRUMP: “IF YOU WANT PEACE, VENEZUELA IS YOUR ALLY”
📢 In a press conference on September 1st, Nicolás Maduro surprised everyone with a direct message to Trump: “If you want peace, Venezuela is your ally.” But he warned that the “deep state” of the U.S. would not allow it, distinguishing Trump from previous Washington policies.
The diplomatic twist comes as 8 U.S. warships sail near Venezuela, including a nuclear submarine and 4,500 military personnel (2,200 Marines). Trump deployed the fleet after designating the Cartel of the Suns as a terrorist organization and doubling the reward for Maduro to $50 million.
💰Trump accuses Maduro of leading global drug trafficking and threatening the security of the U.S. Venezuela denies the accusations and claims it is an excuse for “regime change.” Maduro called on 4.5 million militia members and thanked Colombia for deploying 25,000 troops at the border.
Oil is at stake: Venezuela has the largest proven reserves in the world. Trump already attempted a regime change during his first term and failed. Now he sent Ric Grenell (who met with Maduro in January) but also appointed anti-Maduro hawk Marco Rubio as Secretary of State.
“There is no way they can enter Venezuela,” Maduro said on Thursday, but today he offers peace. Meanwhile, China condemned the U.S. military deployment and Maduro flaunts his new Huawei phone, a gift from Xi Jinping. The question is: negotiation or escalation?
