Zelensky rejects land-for-peace deal after Trump's statement.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made it clear that any peace plan based on giving land to Russia will not be accepted. This statement came after former U.S. President Donald Trump hinted that Ukraine could give up some land in talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska on August 15 for peace.
Zelensky stated that Ukraine will not give up any of its land and warned that any deal made without Ukraine's inclusion would be illegal and dangerous. Ukraine is still facing Russia's aggression, with nearly 20% of its territory under Russian control.
Despite increasing pressure for peace negotiations from around the world, Zelensky insists that any agreement must fully respect Ukraine's borders and sovereignty.
