Cost and Background
In June 2021, Sun Yuchen auctioned for the first seat on this flight for $28 million (about 200 million RMB). He was originally scheduled to participate in Blue Origin's first crewed flight on July 20, 2021, but it was postponed to August 2025.
This flight is Blue Origin's 14th crewed mission, bringing a total of 75 people into space. Sun Yuchen, as a representative figure in the cryptocurrency field (founder of Tron, advisor to HTX exchange), continues the trend of wealthy individuals from the crypto world participating in space travel (previously, Wang Chun completed an orbital flight).
After the flight, Sun Yuchen stated: "I waited four years for this moment, thank you to the Bezos team for making the dream come true, and revealed future plans including Mars exploration and a private space station."
