Today I want to try out the so-called top game on Solana, Star Atlas. On July 30, the game announced new content after an update, but after trying it out, I feel a bit discouraged.
1. Star Atlas currently has a total of three games; the main game is the PC version, which is supposed to be released on the Epic Game Store. However, since the official announcement on September 30, 2022, that the game would be available on the Epic Game Store, it remains in 'soon' and 'add to waitlist' status without a formal launch (see image one). Today's official announcement in the game's Discord community also stated that they are still in the early stage of game development (see image four).
After the official update announcement on July 31, they distributed some early access to players. Players can redeem early version download rights on the Epic Game Store by entering the following code:
RZGQF-DERLF-NFEYY-VYX3F
--- It took two and a half years to release an early version of the game, which is really not easy!
--- Sister Cathy hasn't finished downloading yet; she'll try again later.
2. The second game, Star Atlas Holosim, is a web game currently in open beta testing. No white list is needed to join. Like previous settings, it is a space battle game that requires purchasing starships, teaming up, and developing and fighting. The trailer actually looks good. However, the game is entirely in English, with no Chinese language version. The only option to connect a wallet is through the Ledger wallet shown in image two; there is no Metamask or OKX wallet, no @WalletConnect .
--- I want to ask how many Chinese users connect their wallets using Ledger when logging into Dapp? I, for one, have never used it.
3. The third game is Star Atlas Sage Labs. I clicked in to see how the game works, but the first step requires using Ledger to connect the wallet, which blocked me again. See image three.
4. The Chinese community on the game's Discord is quite quiet. The last message discussion before the announcement of revival in July was still on June 30. Sister Cathy left a message to ask one of the players to add her to their WeChat group, but she hasn't received a response.
It's lamentable how this previously popular Solana chain game project has become quite disconnected from Chinese blockchain game players by 2025. It seems they are also disconnected from Southeast Asian blockchain game players. Currently, they're only operating in Europe and America, right?
Are there any early players who bought Star Atlas NFTs to share what you know?
